Fixed Gear Bike

Berlin police is targeting Fixed Gear byciclists and confiscates bikes in an attempt to increase security in street traffic. This sudden and drastic action by the police is embarrasing and incomprehensible.

A bike rider that acts irresponsible and endangers other people should get fined, but stereotyping an entire group of byciclists and confiscating bikes is an overreaction. In my daily route to work I have come across all kinds of dangerous situations, but was never threatened by a fixed gear bike. Ever!

In order to increase safety in Berlin, I suggest city planers to improve bike lanes (Alexanderplatz!) and restrict the amount of motorized vehicles in the city center.
